Windows 10: Minecraft Java unable to log in to any server that requires a password

I only bought Minecraft Java Edition a few days ago and have never had a Mojang account as they now require you to sign in to them with your Microsoft login details. Although I can log in to my Minecraft Account with my Microsoft password and I can get on Minecraft servers where I don't need to enter an email/password, whenever I try to get on a server which requires I enter them, for example Ardacraft, I get "Error during login: Invalid Credentials."


Anyone any idea why this is happening?

Homegroup For Minecraft Servers Or What?

It looks as if the existing minecraft server will use the new system without modification - It needs to be able to access the computers on the network in a two way link, which is the standard for Workgroup and Homegroup

It's not something I have any direct experience with but a quick read suggests to me that you will not need to do Much if any reconfiguration of the existing server

 

Purchased Multiple Copies Of Minecraft Versions, But Need Minecraft - Java Edition.

Mojang refunds policy and check their refund policy.



If you want to swap your editions of Minecraft that you have purchased, please
Contact Mojang Support and they will help you with this.



If you have purchased Minecraft from Microsoft Store, then I suggest you to refer
Returning items you bought from Microsoft Store for exchange or refund
and check if you can get a refund.



As you need the Java Edition of Minecraft, you can follow the steps mentioned in

the Java Edition of Minecraft on your computer.



Before purchasing the Java Edition of Minecraft, I suggest you to refer the system requirements for installing the Java Edition of Minecraft from

Log in requires password

Since a recent update the PC now requires a password to log in.

I have tried Windows Key - netplwiz and unchecked "users must use password...."

There are no other users shown in the listing.

I use my Windows account as my log in which is also the administrator account.

Also on restart the lock screen shows - pretty picture and no taskbar. I have to press spacebar to release that and then it shows my account and requires a password input.
