Windows 10: Minecraft/Microsoft log in coming back with an error

So whenever i try to log into my Microsoft account in minecraft or the windows store on my PC or laptop it tells me that the account either doesn't exist or that I need internet connection to log in. when I've been told my account doesn't exist I've tried clicking the option to create account and using the email to then be told that the account already exists and to sign in and when I do that it shows a grey screen. Ive been told i need internet connection when i was trying to log into a Minecraft account and i went through the normal process while connected to the internet and when i press

It looks as if the existing minecraft server will use the new system without modification - It needs to be able to access the computers on the network in a two way link, which is the standard for Workgroup and Homegroup

It's not something I have any direct experience with but a quick read suggests to me that you will not need to do Much if any reconfiguration of the existing server

Step 1: Reset the app.

1. Press Windows + I key to open Windows
   Settings.
   
2. Click on Apps and select
   Apps & feature from the left pane.
   
3. Scroll and look for the Minecraft app.
   
4. Select the app and click on Advanced option.
   
5. Click on Reset and once you see a tick mark, then relaunch and check.

Minecraft Launcher Closes Upon Clicking "Microsoft Log-in" Option

As the title suggests, my Minecraft Launcher just closes when I click the Microsoft Log-in option and I have no idea how to fix it. Tried running it through the Xbox app as suggested by other people to no avail. The bigger problem is that there's no error message to help me identify what the problem even is as soon as I click it it just closes and nothing happens
