Windows 10: minecraft starter for windows 10 will not work

gave this to my daughter christmas eve night. the joy crumbled when it simply would not download. it says this

"It looks like you don’t have any applicable devices linked to your Microsoft account. To install, sign in on a device with your Microsoft account."

I bought it at amazon. She followed the instructions to redeem the game. I have a microsoft account. I have windows. They are synced. Im even using a microsoft edge browser. Why wont the darn thing work?!? Literally been up all night trying to figure it out while she slept. What am I missing? What else is there to do? I tried to get all the updates, restarted the computer, tried logging in from minecraft.net, tried downloading from there but it only give me a limited free version using java edition. I wonder if I should have bought the java edition to begin with? Would I have gotten the same issue? Well it doesnt matter because I dont have any more money, I barely had enough money to get her this. I can't refund a digital purchase Especially now that its been "redeemed", I'm at my wits end. Please does anyone know how to help me?

Thanks. I've seen you post this before, and I've performed all of these steps. I still get the 'This product won't work on this device' message when I look at the page for the 'minecraft for windows 10 starter collection.' The store looks like it's working
fine. Other apps appear like I could run them. This appears to be a minecraft-specific thing. I've seen this on at least two separate Win10 laptops at this point.

I tried everything recommended on this thread and others on the internet.
But nothing has worked.

However, we would like to inform you that Minecraft Bedrock Edition is not available in Microsoft Store. In Microsoft Store you will have the Minecraft Starter and Master collection.



If you have redeemed the code in Mojang website and installed the Bedrock edition from Mojang, then we will suggest you to reinstall the game from Mojang website and sign in with the same account, which was
used for redemption.



Minecraft Starter collection is all together a different game, which you have to purchase separately from Microsoft Store.



I would also suggest you to contact the Mojang support team for further assistance on this issue.
