Windows 10: Minecraft Windows 10 CD-Key and region issue.

Good day

Mundane sort of problem, and yet..
I purchased activation key for above-mentioned product, from a local retail.
When I tried activating it on my account, the process came up with with error message of the following sort:


This code can't be redeemed. It was purchased in a different region from your account.

I went to check my account settings, and surely enough.. For giggles, the region was set to Antarctica stupid me, I know.
Alas, changing that to proper zone, did not fixed the problem with key activation.

With that being said, what now? Should I consider this to be a wasted purchase, or is this reversible in some way?

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

 

Windows 10 will not allow any region changes to the DVD driver

This issue might occur if region settings is done correctly.



I suggest you to follow the steps below to change the region settings from region 2 to region 4 ( Australian).

1. Press Windows Key + R Key.

2. Type “devmgmt.msc” without the quotes and hit on Enter Key.

3. Expand DVD/CD-ROM drives, right-click the DVD drive for which you want to change region settings and then click
Properties.

4. On the DVD Region tab.

5. Under list of regions, scroll down the mouse to search for Australia from the list and click on it.

6. Then region 4 will be listed below, then click on Ok button.

Windows 10 - Minecraft Download Issue
