Windows 10: Miracast/Mirroring to TV Stick doesn't work

I want to mirror my Windows 11 23H2 PC desktop to my Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max 2nd gen. The Fire TV stick is connected to a HDMI input of my BenQ 1080p video projector.Mirroring from my Samsung Android tablet to the TV stick works with the app "Smart View", which also seems to use Miracast, but mirroring from my desktop PC does not. Mirroring display to Amazon Fire TV Stick

I already saw a similar video. I first turned on display mirroring on my Fire TV stick.

My TV displayed the message waiting for display to mirror (to the TV). Then on my HP laptop, I tried to mirror the display to my Fire TV Stick. but I couldn't do it because my device doesn't support Miracast. Why is that? Does Miracast need hardware support
to run? Or could my Windows 10 be updated with some optional component to make Miracast work?

Or is there some other way to do this?

 

Mirroring display to Amazon Fire TV Stick

I can't mirror my HP G42 laptop display to my TV using my Amazon Fire TV Stick.

The reason is because something about this laptop, hardware or Windows 10 software, doesn't support Miracast.

Can I update Windows 10 to support Miracast?

Can I mirror my display some other way?

I have been continuing to try to mirror my windows 10 2in1 (Lenovo) to my Amazon Fire

Stick. I have followed all the instructions posted and available on line. I can set the FT to search for devices. Then I click the Connect in the notifications area which results in listing the fire stick. So I can only conclude it is seeing it. I then click
on that device (FS) and the TV displays that is it setting up to mirror this device. This confirms they are seeing each other. Then the stick just reports it is "exiting" and the computer lists that the connection failed.

This discussion has been going on for a couple years after reading all the posts. But no firm solutions posted.

What do we need to do? Isn't Miracast a standard?
