  1. Missing 24-hour time format in weather app

    Hi,
at the moment it does not seem to be possible to use 24-hour time in weather app. It shows am/pm values.

As you know, whole Europe uses 24-hour time so am/pm is difficult to understand.

Also, it should be possible to select m/s for wind speed since km/h is not usually used for it.

    :)

Time format at calendar in WP8.1

Your outlook.com has a calendar time setting in 'options' for a 12 or 24 hour time format. If you change this to the 24 hour format does it change the phone format?

  3. How to Display 24 Hour Clock Format?

I prefer the 24 hour clock format and am having difficulty converting from the 12 hour format. How do I get Windows 10 to display the 24 hour format? I live in the US - Central Time Zone. Thanks!

Check your default location in the apps settings.

There is no time setting in the app.
Although I live in Germany, my system is set up us-eng with a german keyboard(I'm an American expat) and my Weather app shows 24 hour time. I didn't jhave to do anything special, other than set my date and time settings.

  9. W10 Creators Update (ver 1703) and this silly issue still persists?!
My time formats are set to 24-hour clock, just as shown in posting #5 above, the taskbar clock shows 24-hour time, but the Weather App still insists on showing AM/PM format. How hard can it be?
I'm getting so tired of all the small bugs in W10... *sigh*

It is correct here Windows 10 ver 1703, in little old England(imminent European divorce), the Weather App does show 24 hour clock. Does for any other location as well.

Try ye olde worlde Control Panel > Region > Formats > Additional settings... > Time Tab > Capital H for 24 hour clock. The options are explained there.
    Apply OK restart App etc.
It does change in the Weather App, just tried it. Maybe you are on manual updates for Apps or something.

  11. Thanks for the tip. Been there, done that...
As I mentioned above, the task bar shows 24-hour clock, only the weather app insists on am/pm. And the settings on the Control Panel time tab are exactly as they should be HH:mm for short and HH:mm:ss for long time. But to just to test, I changed the time setting and then changed it back and Apply and OK and restarted the whole machine. Still no go... The weather app shows am/pm, as it has always done.

    EDIT:
And apparently I am not alone:
Wrong usage of Regional settings in Windows 10 Apps weather, - Microsoft Community

But there is an explanation and a work around in one of the posts there:
"The problem he is having here, has been in all windows 10 builds except 14905. Many MS apps confuse regional settings with language settings. An example, in the Weather app, if you use US English as your display language and have US English as your first language in the language list, apps appear in English as you expect, but the Weather app also then assumes you want time displayed as AM/PM no matter what your regional settings tell windows. If you move another language to the top (Norwegian in my case) apps appear in Norwegian and time is formatted with 24 hour clock. I prefer windows UI and all apps to appear in English, so I get AM/PM. This is bad coding from Microsoft, and they managed to fix this in the Alarms app as an example and briefly in build 14905 also for the weather app. I, and many other Windows insiders, have reported this in the feedback HUB, but have received zero feedback from MS.One way around it, if you like me insist on using English in your windows apps, is to install English UK as a language, override the keyboard settings to your preferred language, and then move that to the top. Then regional formatting is correct in the Weather app.

But of course, if someone could tell the developers of these apps that they are doing it wrong, that would be preferable.

    John"

W10 Fall Creators Update (ver 1709) and this silly issue still persists?!
Either it must be a very hard bug to track down, or none at MS cares about this... so many small bugs in W10 that together make it look so sloppy....
