Windows 10: Missing a driver 802.11 g wlan

Hey all. Since the latest insider build 15048. I am missing this driver and Defender keeps telling me about it but no option to update it. Says in Device manager not installed. I try to update it to no avail.
A search on the web brings up to much confusion and no result for what I need.
Does anyone have an idea as to where I can download this from a reputable site? The ones that say they have it want you to buy the software or packed with stuff I do not want.

Turn off powersaving in the advanced settings of WLAN. Use 802.11 b/g if you have a N router.

 

What PC are you asking for help with?

The M5A99x EVO R2.0 in your System Specs seems to have no built-in WiFi (802.11) adapter.

 

The 802.11g number indicates the driver would be for the Wireless Networking Adapter in the computer. That's an older adapter, all mine are 802.11b/g/n, even newer is the 802.11AC. Most Desktops didn't automatically include the Wireless or maybe it was an Add-in card, some newer ones do include it like my ASUS M52BC I got in November. Some newer Notebooks are leaving out the Wired/RJ45 port, are Wi-Fi only.

 

Hi. This is a desktop PC. And in reading both replies am wondering why the driver is even showing in Device Manager? I don't have any add on card and I do know there is no wifi which does drive me nuts as I wish it did sometimes.

So should I just delete it as it seems it serves no purpose? Thank you both for helping. Much appreciated

 

If you Uninstall or Delete it in Device Manager it may come back next reboot. If so, I'd just Disable it. If indeed there is a built-in Wireless adapter and is not needed maybe disable in the BIOS.

 

OK Thank you very much for the help. I'll see both ways but at least can more than likely get that yellow ! point to go away in defender.
