Windows 10: Missing Advanced Option tab in file explorer.

I am using File Explorer to find contents of a file. I can no longer access the Advanced Options tab. If I enter a search phrase in the search box, it starts searching straight away. I then go to Advanced options and tick the File Contents option. As explorer has already started the search I now close Explorer and start the search again. Why do I do this you may ask? Well, there is a delay between the search starting and me hitting the File Contents option, search is merrily searching my disc - how do I know that the search hasn't already processed a file with my search phrase in it but has ignored it because I didn't have the File Contents option ticked in time? Because the Advanced Tab is missing, I can't check the status of the Advanced Option before I have started a search.

Or perhaps you are going to tell me Search restarts the search midway and processes the files already searched because I have changed the Advanced option - I don't think so.


The answer I want and has been asked by others is - keep the Advance Options tab visible at all times!

Missing options in wifi's advanced tab.

It's not a driver update issue.

MS has deemed customers too stupid to manage their own software and has removed your ability to do so. Which is why they now force updates you don't want and didn't ask for down your throat.

Go ahead MS... Prove me wrong.

• Why are the Advanced Options under WiFi settings missing?

I'll tell you all why... So you can't 'meter' your internet connection to block their updates.

If not, explain why the advanced options for wifi is missing and how to restore it. Go ahead... I dare you.

 

Pinned & Recent Folder Missing From Explorer in Start

• Open File explorer.
• Click on View and then Options.
• Choose Folder and search options.
• Under General Tab and under Privacy, make sure to place a check mark on Show recently used files and recently used folder in Quick access.

Missing Tab On File Explorer

The tabs and their functions are dynamic, adjusting to suit what you are currently viewing in File Explorer. For example, if you select a .mp4 file a tab named 'Video tools' appears, select a .zip and you get 'Compressed folder tools', do a search and a Search tools tab appears. The tools on the Home tab (delete, select, etc.) are only appropriate when viewing the contents of a drive or a folder, there is no Home tab when viewing 'This PC' but there is when in 'Quick access'.

Have you recently change File Explorer to open at This PC? That may explain your missing Home tab, it should appear when needed as you explore the drives and folders.
