Windows 10: Missing BCD file, 0xc000000f error

I've already seen a similar thread, but the solution didn't work for my case. Also, pretty long one, I apologize.So, it all started when I was trying to upgrade to an M.2 drive from a SATA SSD. I used AOMEI cloning service to clone everything I had on the SSD to the M.2.I was thinking of deleting everything I had on the SSD, but when I selected the M.2 drive as my boot option, it still loaded onto the SSD, so I kept it. At this point, I have 2 drives with Windows plugged in, one of which doesn't want to be booted on.I decide to restart my PC to get into bios, select my M.2 as booting option a

File \BCD missing, error codes 0xc0000034 and 0xc000000f

I have a HP 15 Notebook PC, Windows 10 already pre-installed on it. Last night I let HP install some updates, that's when I got the blue recovery screen. So, I decided to just factory reset it, the same thing I did last time I had this problem.

The blue screen is telling me that the Boot Configuration Data file is missing some required information-

File: \BCD

Error Code: 0xc0000034

When I press esc, go into the F options menu, and press F11 so I can try to factory reset it again, I get this:

File: \EFI\Microsoft\Recovery\BCD

Error Code: 0xc000000f

I've downloaded the recovery media onto a USB drive and have it inserted in my computer, but after about 2 minutes the computer shuts off.

Is it time to take it to a repair shop? Is there something that I can still personally do? Will burning the information on to a disc and inserting it into the disc drive, instead of using a USB stick, make a difference?

Hi Andre,

As per the description, I suggest that you follow the steps below to fix BCD

1. Right click on the Start Menu and select Command Prompt (Admin)

2. Here type/paste the commands listed below

Bootrec /fixMBR

Bootrec /fixBoot

Bootrec /RebuildBcd

3. Once done restart the PC and check.
