    Missing devices after installing wrong drivers following windows 10 update


    After windows update on my Lenovo 100S ideapad, I clicked on other updates that might be useful and selected them drivers.

    Following this, I lost my laptop keyboard and trackpad, battery status, SD card and sound yes, all of that.... I could stil work the PC with a USB keyboard and mouse, and did a PCreset and fresh windows install - the problem persists though. I tried to find my way around in device manager, but had no success getting the laptop to work.

    Grateful for any insights!

    windows xp installation and dual core am

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

    Thank you for trying to help , i did tried your suggestion but it did not work :/ , nothing seems to make it work on Windows 10 Fall Creators Update 1709. In the meantime i have bought a new SoundBlasterX AE-5 and it did installed flawlessly , no problems whatsoever. it is up to Creative ( drivers ) and Microsoft ( bug fix ) to fix this huge bugs with Audio.

    • Right click "My Computer"
    • Click "Properties"
    • Click on "Hardware" tab
    • Click "Device Installation Settings"
    • Tick the "No, let me choose what to do"
    • Tick "Never install driver software from Windows Update"
