Windows 10: missing dll files for an old programme

I have used an old Brodabund family Tree Maker programme in many Windows versions as they have evolved. I successefully started it running in Win 10 but now I cannot open it. I get a message that tells me that variouse .dll files are missing. Can anyone suggest a means of curing this problem.

I have downloaded Windows 10, but now get error message MSVCP100.dll is missing

MSVCP100.dll is a relatively old MS Visual C++ Runtime DLL file used by (and often installed by) a specific piece of software that needs it. I would suspect that
the Win 10 Upgrade has removed what it believes to be an old/redundant file in removing your previous OS.

Does trying to launch a particular programme throw up the error? If yes, try reinstalling that programme and it will normally also reinstall a copy of the missing DLL file it needs.

I am facing the same problem.

I am wondering who was the programmer who wrote activesyn software.

Instead of writing 'required DLL is missing' he could have specified WHICH DLL.

At least I could google and find more about that DLL.

Must be a novice programmer.

BTW, I have Win2K SP4 and I still see this issue.

 

Please ignore this request for help. I have just cured the problem by re installing some elements from the original programme disc which I have finally located..

I feel a bit stupid as a result.
