Windows 10: Missing favorites list in Windows 11 sidebar after update

I have just got the new Edge browser in Windows 11 today and found that all my favorites in the sidebar have disappeared. How can I restore them?

favorite folders there, sites are gone

To assist you better, I would like to know whether you are referring to the favorites folder created within the Internet Explorer.

If you lose the favorites saved within the Internet Explorer
and as an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to check if you are able to locate the favorites that has been missing from Internet Explorer.

• Click This PC.
• Type %userprofile% into the Address bar
  
• Press Enter on your keyboard
• Click on Favorites and check if the missing favorites are there.
  

If you are able to locate the missing favorites, I suggest you to create a backup and try to import the favorites.

Favorites list IE 11

There is nothing in my favorites list and I mean it is totally blank. I can not add folders cause it says they already exist. Can not add sites cause there is nothing to add to. Can not import from Edge either. I have checked IE on drive C: and my favorites
list is there. So whats going on here. I am using Win10. Favorites list is fine in Edge but really prefer IE 11. Thanks for your help.
