Windows 10: missing files and pictures

A week ago, my computer gave the good old "restart to install updates", so I did. Well it was windows !0 unfortunately. I say that because it only downloaded 1/2 the install. When I looked in the computer after, I realized that none of our documents, pictures. saved web sites were missing. I was able to find all that information under My PC/users/computer name. So I moved the necessary folders to the new Window 10 location. It also did a job on our printer didn't recognize the computer and kept stating that another computer was using the computer


Today I get another message that McAfee must be removed in order to finish the update. It was not supported by Windows 10. So I did. After a good couple of hours, the install finished. I opened the system and much to my dismay, all the previously pictures that I had moved to the previous windows10 install completely disappeared. The documents and web addresses were still there, but no pictures anywhere. the printer though recognized the computer and that issue was resolved.

My question is: where can I possibly find the missing pictures?

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

Graphics or Pictures missing

For Internet Explorer

• Click on Tools.
• Select Internet Options.
• Choose Advanced.
• In the Multimedia section of the list, make sure that the option Show Pictures
  is checked.
