Windows 10: Missing files when moving to another laptop

I recently got a new laptop. I moved all my docs, pictures and music to OneDrive so I could easily access them on my new laptop. I'd never used the OneDrive before, always saving to my laptop. Now I've tried to access some of my work files and they are not there, all the folders and subfolders are there but no files. But some files are there, frustratingly the ones I don't really need right now. There is nothing in the recycle bin. I don't know what has happened, please help

Burning Files To cdr

I tried to drag a .txt file to the burn list, as suggested above, but it will not drop in. I get a message "+add to burn list" but I cannot get it to drop into the burn list. Is there another step I am missing?

In order to help you with your concern about missing files that is now in the listed apps, may we request you to answer the following questions first:

• Have you made any recent changes to your computer system prior to getting this issue?

• Have you tried clicking on the Turbo Tax files app itself and after that, you should see a
  Move option and then you can choose to relocate it to Documents
  from there?
• What other troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
