Windows 10: missing files

Hello, all. I am having an interesting and terrifying problem. I have an external drive that has "hidden" every single type of file with a name starting after "HO", even the files. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? is it the drive? is it windows? The files are missing but the space they take up is still accounted for? i have over 80GBs of space leftover, so there's no warnings about low disc space when i download something. In fact I redownloaded a file I knew I had, and I can see it in recent files drop down in explorer but when i go to the drive to find it it's not there.

Burning Files To cdr

I tried to drag a .txt file to the burn list, as suggested above, but it will not drop in. I get a message "+add to burn list" but I cannot get it to drop into the burn list. Is there another step I am missing?

 

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

For us to isolate the issue, we will need to ask you a few questions:

• What task are you trying to do every time that you get the error code “missing file rtl160.bpl?”
  
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
