Windows 10: missing folder because of onedrive

hi, I have tons of problems with my one drive. at first my folder is neat. no duplicate folder in my windows 11. I use one drive to make space in my laptop, but out of knowhere my document folder wont show up in my quick access nor my windows. oit only shows up in my one drive folder. thats not the only problem. I have noticed that almost all of my files are missing from my laptop and when I checkit, It was moved to the onedrive folder without me knowing it. I had to copy back all of my files. and when I turn off onedrive from my windows 11 most of my files are missing. i have to download my

OneDrive is missing from my list of folders that can be indexed

I don't think that's the issue.

The OneDrive folder on my computer seems properly synced with OneDrive online. The problem is that when I look at what folders are being indexed to optimize searches, OneDrive is missing.

When I try to add OneDrive to my list of indexed folders, it's nowhere to be found on the list of folders to index.

When you set up OneDrive to sync with your computer, a folder C:\Users\XXXX\OneDrive will be created to store the contents. XXXX denotes your username. To move this folder to another location follow these simple steps:

1. Unlink OneDrive from your PC:

• Go to the taskbar notification area
• Right-click on the OneDrive icon
• Select settings
• Click: Unlink this PC

2. Delete the C:\Users\XXXX\OneDrive folder

3. Create a new folder (target folder) for OneDrive contents, e.g. D:\OneDrive

4. Create Directory Junction for the new folder

• In the search area of the taskbar type CMD and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter
• In the command window type

mklink /J C:\Users\XXXX\OneDrive D:\OneDrive

adjusting it to your specific username and selection of the target folder

5. Link again OneDrive to your PC using the OneDrive icon in the taskbar notification area

 

OneDrive has hijacked my "Documents" folder

• Login to www.onedrive.com.
• Click on the question mark icon on the upper right-hand corner of your screen.
• Select Email OneDrive Support.
• Fill out the box and include the following:

• Device/Time the files were seen.
• Folder/file names that went missing.
• Permission to view the OD Account History.
