Windows 10: Missing Folders/Files

Hi,

I recently noticed after working on a folder and saving, the next day the folder had disappeared.

I checked the used/free values in Windows Explorer and found a 50GB difference from this to the value given by selecting contents and checking properties.

I have 6 internal drives where I keep data.

On each drive there is a difference. The difference is small/insignificant for three drives; 3Gb, 8GB, 14 GB however, the other 3 are around 50 GB.

I also checked all external drives by the same method.

Three correspond, four do not with the biggest difference being 140GB.

In all cases, "show hidden files" is selected.

In the first instance, I checked with a file recovery tool and saw files. I did not keep this running as file level without correct tags is no help.

I am running W10 64bit vn 1093.

I searched around, but haven't found any corresponding issue. I am aware of the disappearing files when the latest update initially was released, however it appears to me this is a different issue.

Can any one recommend a solution?

Pinned & Recent Folder Missing From Explorer in Start
