Windows 10: Missing information

I requested the help of a Microsoft agent because I couldnt activate windows after a series of problems. I had the computer for many years and had lots of info on it. The person told me that they needed to take out my old version and download a new version, and that I would loose all the apps installed on the computer but not the info that would be kept in something like microsoft.old or similar. They left the new version downloading an closed the chat. Supposedly after finishing the installation, everything would be ok but now I cannot find my information anywhere. Any ideas how or where I can find all my info?

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

I will suggest you to follow the below given steps:

1. Press Windows key and R key together to open Run
   
2. Type wsreset.exe and press Enter button
   
3. Restart the PC and sign in with Microsoft User account.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
