Windows 10: missing live tile section windows 10 PRO

For some reason my start display no longer has a live tile section...only the left most column and the program list. Didn't notice exactly when this change occurred but I haven't been able to figure out how to reestablish. I tried expanding the panel area but even though the expand arrows show when I hover over the edge I cannot pull the section out or up. Can you help, please?

Family room - Windows Phone 8 - Notifications

i love using the family room options available in windows phone. i have created a live tile for the family room . But however the live tile doesn't update information . For ex: if a member adds photos or updates notes in family room , the live tile remains
static and hence i always miss out on the updates happening inside family room. It requires the member to manually go inside the family room to check for any updates in various sections. I feel that microsoft must introduce Live Tile updations and Notifications
for activities under family room.

 

Live mail tile won't work

I'm having the same issue with Calendar and Mail live tiles on a Surface Pro 3 I bought a week ago (it came with Windows 10 Pro pre-installed). The Calendar and Mail live tiles do not show or update with any information even though they are enabled.

Oddly, I just updated an old Samsung laptop to Windows 10 Home a couple days ago (from W7 Home) and all live tiles are working fine on that device. Home vs. Pro thing? Pre-installed vs. update thing? Both? Other? I dunno.

 

Try pinning something to start. Pick Weather or something from the all-apps list, right click and pin to start.

It will not allow you to increase the size of area for live tiles if there are none pinned there.

 

Thanks, lx07. I successfully added Weather. Can you tell me where the tiles (i.e. news) that were there after the original install are now? Do I have to get them from the App Store (and pay for them) or are they somewhere in the default program tiles set?

 

They should all be in your Apps list.

And you can turn this on to show even more Tiles.
