Windows 10: Missing location tab in OneDrive > Desktop > Properties; moving desktop back to PC

OneDrive was on, although I did not want to use it. Today I turned it off, then discovered that everything on my laptop's desktop disappeared. I realized that it was all in onedrive > Desktop folder. I found instructions on how to move my desktop back to my laptop device that said to right click on onedrive > desktop to get properties, then go to location tab to restore default. There is no location tab.


How can I move my desktop back to my PC from onedrive? Everything I have I save to my desktop.

Cannot move desktop to a new location in Windows 7

I've been trying to move the desktop location on a machine that runs Windows 7.

On my own machine (Windows 10), there's a "Location" tab in the desktop properties.

That tab is missing on the machine that runs Windows 7.

I came across the suggestion below in other threads, but it is not working for me. Any other suggestions on how to change to location or how to get the location tab to show?

1. Open the Registry editor (Regedit.exe)
2. Browse to the location:
   
   HKCU > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Explorer > User Shell Folders.
3. In the right window pane select the required value (i.e. Desktop).
4. Insert the new location for the folder to be stored.
5. Close the registry editor and log off
   
   --> Didn't work.

The information provided by you in the post, seems to be the Location tab is missing under
Properties.



Usually the Location tab will be present under
Properties for the folders listed under Quick Access (Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures) and folders listed under
This PC (3d Objects, Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, Videos).



In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please provide us the screenshot of the windows where you are not able to get the
Location tab under properties. (Please follow the steps mentioned in the

screenshot posted by Shawn ‘Cmdr’ Keene on Oct 2, 2015 to post the screenshots.) Do not share any personal information in the screenshots.
