    What's the problem?

    Ok so I can't boot into Windows Login Screen after the boot screen due to missing os files in C:\Windows.

    More Info - Windows boots from C:\Windows and C:\Windows.old\Windows has all the os files but C:\Windows is missing os files.

    Question - Is there any way to copy these missing files that are not in C:\Windows from C:\Windows.Old\Windows to C:\Windows? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

    Edit: This was written on mobile.

    C windows installer folder - Delete?

    He can do symbolic link redirection and move the files in it to a different location. *Wink Missing os files in C:\Windows but not in C:\Windows.old\Windows ;)
    Better try it out in a virtual of first. Just a suggestion.

    Like:
    First move everything in c:\windows\installer to d:\installercache
    Then delete c:\windows\installer folder
    Then type this in command mode as admin
    mklink /d c:\windows\installer d:\installercache

    Removing those installer files is a bad idea. it might prevent you from updating or uninstalling apps.

    C++ for windows...

    Could anybody point me to a great windows based C++ programming platform, there's Borland Turbo C++ for windows but you gotta pay for it... Are there any more 3rd party applications that are freeware, which has complete headers and stuff... Just wanted to refresh the rusty c++ skills for my new job.

    Thanks in advance

    Generating a .txt based file list in Windows 7

    No, that > bla.txt is the target file to write to. You could use a wildcard in the argument, ie c:\windows\*.txt which would list all dlls in c:\windows. But adding that to a simple right-click would be tricky.

    Basically you would execute fancyfile.bat c:\windows\*.txt, fancyfile.bat would then write all .txt files to bla.txt.
