Windows 10: Missing photo's

Hi everyone


I recently renamed several photos at the same time in one of my folders, unfortunately however for some reason a copy of each photo was created, so I clicked undo rename which resulted in a error message saying the photo couldn't be located.


This unfortunately caused most of my photo's to disappear, It seems they are still there due to the space or hdd space taken up in the folder, they aren't hidden and they aren't in the recycle bin, does anyone know what's happened?


I tried to undo again but nothing happened, will I need a recovery program or can I try something else? I'd really like to get my photo's back!


If I need to try and recover them a suggestion for a free recovery program would be appreciated.

Thanks for replying spunk. That's the 'alphabetical' list I was referring to, none of these apps are in that 'All apps' list. Any more suggestions?

 

Photo App Missing on Windows 10

I've seen several threads about installing a missing photo app. I've tried the suggestions listed on these threads to get the photo app back and nothing works. Any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tanya,

There are different ways to restore your deleted or missing files, such as restoring it from previous versions or from a backup. Since that your back up hard drive isn't working, we suggest that you restore your deleted or missing files from previous versions.
Follow these steps:

• Click on Start.
• Open File Explorer.
• Navigate to the folder that used to contain the file or folder, and then right-click on it.
• Select Restore previous versions.
  If the folder was at the top level of a drive, for example C:\, right-click the drive, and then click on
  Restore previous versions.

To delete those duplicate photos, we suggest that you visit
Microsoft Store and check for available 3rd party app for it.
