Windows 10: Missing Product key

Hi, I am Ishara IT officer of a government organization of Sri Lanka,


I had to re-install Windows 10 pro for a pc of our office, that had licensed version of Windows 10 pro. So before I start format the PC, I took a picture of This PC's properties, that include OS is activated or not and Product ID.I thought that will be the licensed key of Win 10 pro.But after formatted it, it did not let me to activate OS back, it shows key is wrong.How can I get the real product licensed key now because these PC's have been purchased as a bulk from third party company.Now we have no keys too.

Where is my Product Key if I want to re-install?


Like davidhk said. But if you really want to see your windows key, I would suggest Belarc advisor. It will give you some useful information about your system, product keys of your software is among them (not only Microsoft, you will have listed most of your keys).

i know the product id but forget the product key

There is still a way to search for your product key. Kindly follow the steps below for you to know your product key:

• Press Windows key + X
• Click Command Prompt (admin)
• Enter the following command: wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey
• Then hit Enter

The product key will be revealed, copy the product key then enter it.

Give us an update on what happens.
