    Missing "Update Now" section on Download Windows 10 page


    I was helping someone upgrade their win 7 computer dell laptop to win 10. I went to the download page https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and the Update Now section of the page is not shown. It goes from the blue 'Download Windows 10' section to the 'Create Windows 10 Installation media' section, without showing the 'Windows 10 October 2020 Update' section. I tried w/ two browsers firefox and ie11 and no difference. On a windows 7 computer I have, the section is there. I've upgraded several windows 7 machines to windows 10 through this page, and the 'Update now' link, and never ran into this problem. Is there something specific to a computer that would block the section coming up? Anything I can try to get it to show up? Is there a direct link?

    Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Windows 10 forced download

    ^This, then reboot and go to manually update windows. Find KB3035583 in the list of available updates, right-click and "Hide this update" so it doesn't get installed again next go around.
