Windows 10: Missing Updates from Windows Update, How do I get them ? Windows 10 1809

I haven't been offered update in March's Patch Tuesday, I want to get my Laptop up to date with 1809 Updates and in about 2-4 weeks I will then try to update to 1909



Currently My OS build is 17763.1039 which is KB4532691 from 11th February. Feb Patch Tuesday


There was an Update KB4537818 on 25/2 which would of taken me to OS Build 17763.1075 but I wasn't offered this. So could this be why I didn't get offered kb4538461 on March's Patch Tuesday ………………………& with KB4537818 missing is it wise to get KB4538461 from the Microsoft Catalogue ?



The last Update I had installed was on 19/2 was 2019-12 KB4023057 which is supposed to of helped with Windows Update is that right ?...…..but since then I have not been offered KB4537818 or subsequently KB4538461


What do I need to do now ? How do I get KB4537818 & KB4538461 ? Do I need to uninstall KB4023057 ?


Out of interest do I need to have all updates installed and therefore latest build for 1809 before I upgrade through Windows update to 1909 ?

Windows 10 Update

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.

 

Windows Update suddenly hangs?

Windows Update is suddenly hanging for some reason... I went and downloaded and installed the first bunch of updates, restarted when asked, and now when I go back to windows update I just get the window with a white box forever. Reboot and it still does it. This happens to be on my main machine, running windows 7.

I've also noticed when I reboot it says configuring windows update, step 3 of 3, 47%. Maybe it somehow skipped something and is screwed forever?
