Windows 10: Missing User Account Desktop Folder

I bought a new PC with Windows 11 already installed. When I tried to save something to my user folder's desktop folder, it does not exist:I found out it is using my OneDrive desktop folder. I tried adding a desktop folder to the user account, reboot, but it still uses the OneDrive desktop. I would like to use the user desktop and not the OneDrive desktop. How can I rectify this?

I suggest you to check if the user account folders are present in Users folders.

Follow the below steps

In C drive, go to users folder and check if the user account folders are present.

If it is present create a new account and transfer the folders to new account.

Having an easy access to the Desktop folder can give you a convenience on opening your files. Regarding your concern about the Desktop folder that was moved to the Downloads section, we recommend that you create a new local user or administrator account to
resolve the issue.

In addition, to move your files from the Downloads folder back to the Desktop folder, we suggest that you manually copy and paste the files to avoid any data loss.

We appreciate the prompt response. We'll need additional information in order to further isolate your concern. To do this, we suggest that you perform the methods below:

Content of the User folder. To identify if a temporary account was created due to user account errors. To access the
User folder, follow these steps:

• Open File Explorer.
• Select This PC.
• Follow this folder path, C:\ > Users.
• For case isolation, take a screenshot and attach it on your next post.

Check if you have a Window.old folder. To locate this folder, follow the steps below:

• Open FileExplorer
• Select This PC
• Check if you have a Windows.old folder. If yes, open the folder and proceed to
  step 4.
• Follow this folder path, User > Username (Account signed in).
• Open the Pictures folder and check if the missing photos are saved in this location. If not, try checking other folders (Documents,
  Desktop, Download, etc.).
  This will help us identify if the photos are relocated on the Window.old folder.
