    BitLocker File Attributes?

    Screenshots are presented below. Please let me know if this is more clear as to the problem I'm having. Thanks.

    Step 1: Create a test file on the desktop using Text Document - File Attributes = A



    Step 2: Copy the file directly to C:\OneDrive\Documents - File attributes = AL. Note that status is showing as local and I can use "Free Up Space" to delete the file from my OneDrive folder but retain it in the cloud.



    Step 3: Copy the test file from the desktop to X:\Pictures which is running BitLocker - File attributes = AP (in copying from my C: drive that is not encrypted to my X: drive that is encrypted the P attribute was set)

    Step 4: Copy the test file from X:\Pictures to C:\OneDrive\Documents - File attributes = ALP. Note that the status is showing as "keep on machine" and that "Free Up Space" will not work at the parent directory. To remove this file using free up space I need to highlight the file.

    So, my question is why is BitLocker adding the P attribute to the file which is then telling OneDrive to keep the file on my machine?

    Stored files in Hard Drive

    You can use Windows search. Just search for *.* on a desired drive. When list is done just arrange them by size LOL.

    You can do it via command line as well and make an output text file showing files and their sizes (but without arrangement)

    help with simple batch file

    xcopy is DOS.
    its xcopy commands...

    /c = Continues copying even if errors occur.
    /d = Copies files changed on or after the specified date. If no date is given, copies only those files whose source time is newer than the destination time.
    /f = Displays full source and destination file names while copying.
    /k = Copies attributes. Normal Xcopy will reset read-only attributes.
    /s = Copies directories and subdirectories except empty ones.
    /y = Suppresses prompting to confirm you want to overwrite an existing destination file.


    its easy and simple. i use it all the time to back up all the stuff on my hard drive to my external.
