    MMC.exe after Creators Update briefly hangs


    I noticed a minor issue after upgrading my 7-year old Lenovo ThinkPad to the Creators Update. In wandering through Device Manager to see what drivers may have been updated, I noticed that on occasion when I clicked on the "Driver" tab of a particular device, it would not respond for several seconds. Task Manager indicated that MMC.exe had jumped to the top of the CPU process column (below System Idle Process) and was using 5% to 6% of the CPU. I don't know if that had been occurring under previous releases. These are the computers specs:

    Intel i7 Q720 @ 1.6 gHz
    8GB RAM
    Seagate 500GB 7200RPM Hard Drive

    No big deal. I was wondering if any one else had noticed something like that. It may be just the age of the PC.

    Unable to run mmc - blocked by administrator - after Creators Update 1703 - bad MS Publisher's Certificate?

    After my system updated to Creators Update 1703, I am now unable to run mmc.exe - says the app is an Unknown Publisher, and is blocked for my protection. Seems the Publisher's Certificate is no longer valid.

    Any ideas how to fix?

    Can't open Device Manager in Windows 10 - blocked by Administrator

    I have the same exact error. Started after the Windows 10 Creator's Update. I ran the safety scanner and nothing found. I also run AVG all the time with all protection turned on.

    I also ran sfc /scannow and it found nothing about mmc.exe
