Windows 10: Mobile Hotspot Always Stops Sharing Internet to Devices in Several Minutes

Hello,My laptop is ThinkPad P17 Gen 1 and has a strange issue with the hotspot recently. When I turn on the Windows 10 hotspot and connect devices with it, everything goes well. But if the device doesn't send any data in several minutes, the hotspot will not share any Internet with the device. The device shows connected with the hotspot WIFI but no Internet. The laptop hotspot setting pages shows the hotspot is on but the device is removed from the Device Connected List.In other words it seems like the hotspot kicks out the device if it doesn't request any data in two minutes. Mobile Hotspot Not Sharing Internet

I run windows 10 Anniversary edition with dual booted linux mint.

Until now the mobile hotspot button worked fine sharing my ethernet connection to all my connected devices.

Randomly it stopped working.

Now the hotspot turns on fine, ethernet works but no shared device gets internet access. I made no changes to my computer, it just stopped working.

To fix it I started a hotspot using cmd but even that doesnt share internet, i can connect to the hotspot in both cases and connected devices show up as well, only internet doesnt work.

Please help.

Just to clarify, are you trying to share the internet connection received by your Windows 10 laptop to other devices you have like Xbox? If so, we suggest to enable Mobile Hotspot feature on your Windows 10 by performing the following steps below:

• Go to Settings.
• Choose Network & Internet.
  
• Click Mobile Hotspot tab on the left pane.
• Turn on the "Share my Internet connection with other devices".
• If you want to edit network info, click Edit.
• Check your other device if it will detect your Windows 10 Mobile hotspot feature.
