Windows 10: Mobile Hotspot do not reconnect if mobile device goes out of range and comes back

Hello everybody,


I usually have my ethernet connected PC sharing its connection through the Mobile Hotspot from Windows 10 to other mobile devices. I must say that this feature is already much better than it used to be about 2 years ago. However I still face a meaningful problem: whenever I walk far away enough from my PC so that the Hotspot connection on the mobile device goes out of range, the mobile device is not able to reconnect to the shared network once they come back to its range. My workaround is to simply restart the Mobile Hotspot - which sometimes takes quite a while.

I have seen this problem happen in a variety of PCs configs, Windows versions (both from 10 and 7) and mobile devices. In fact, I have never seen a setup here a previously connected device goes out of range and comes back and is able to reconnect to the Mobile Hotspot.


I realize this is no life or death issue, but maybe I am just misusing the feature, or it indeed have a bug that can be easily fixed.

Mobile hotspot??

Seeing other Wi-Fi range on your device is normal, especially, other devices that are configured for mobile hotspot. To provide you the appropriate steps that can resolve your concern, we'd like to ask the following:

• Where did you see the Wi-Fi name and password? A screenshot of it is highly appreciated.
• Does your mobile hotspot name and password is also shown on it?
• Are you getting any connection issues on your mobile hotspot?

Windows mobile hotspot - iphone cant reconnect after out of range

Hello everyone

So i set up a mobile hotspot using the windows 10 function. All is good and my iphone can connect / access internet.

Now when i leave home with my phone and then come back, I cant reconnect unless I disable / enable the mobile hotspot thing.

I suspect the PC doesnt detect the phone is gone because it still appears in the connected devices list, along with the attributed mac and ip addresses. I have the same problem with an android phone, except its random (sometimes cant reconnect, sometimes
can)

Any fix for that? Thanks a lot
