    Mobo dead, how to access striped volume externally from laptop?


    I have a dead PC with 2 data drives that are windows striped not hardware raid-0. If I buy a usb raid enclosure, do you think windows will recognize them as a dynamic disc? If not, is there a way to access it externally without a desktop? Thanks.

    Hi Michael,

    To better assist you with your concern, I would like to ask if you're getting any error messages when accessing your external drives? If yes, can you provide us with the exact error message?

    As an initial troubleshooting, we suggest you to follow the steps below:

    • Go to Device Manager.
    • Click on USB Mass Storage.
    • Right click on your USB, and then click on Update Driver Software.
    • Once done, check if you can access your external drives.

    Cannot create striped volume

    Hello all,

    I'm running Windows 10 Pro 1809. I have to 2TB hard drives that I want to set up as a striped volume(4TB total) so I can use it as a file history backup drive. The problem is that once I convert them to dynamic disks and set them as a single striped volume
    I get an error that says that the format failed. I tried to use the command line tool to format them as I've seen in different support sites but none of them work. anyone have a clue as to what I'm missing??? if you need more info on this please don't hesitate
    to ask.

    Hello,

    Anyone know of a utility that can simulate a striped drive for cheap non-raid external drives?

    Something similar to WinRAR's "Split to volume" but with no compression?
