Windows 10: Modal Dialogs are opening in Background and invisible and Transparent

Hello,


We have a website where in the modal popups windows dialogs are opening in background and not visible to the user giving a feel that website is freezed as the modal is stuck in the background.

Struggling with this since 2 months and this issue is not coming to all users but some users on windows 10 , Windows Server 2016.


Please please help and advice.

We have already tried:

Setting foreground Lock , foreground timeout registry options,

setting focus

updating the device drivers

run cmd files should show modal or modeless dialog boxes?

I noticed odd behaviour with the "open file security warning" dialog box, but it can happen to other dialog boxes as well.

Here are the steps to reproduce:

1. Create a .cmd file in which you call a 'blocked' installer with a dialog box.
2. If you just Run the cmd-file, you will get the "open file security warning" in a modal dialog box, which is a good thing, I think: The user will always see the dialog box. But if you Run as administrator, the dialog boxes are shown in a modeless state.
   In this way the dialog boxes can be in the background and the user can wait forever, because it is possible he/she doesn't notice the dialog box (behind the command prompt).

Is this wanted behaviour or is this a bug?

BTW I am using Windows 10 1809 (Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.17763.805])

As a workaround, I suggest you to change the desktop background/ remove the desktop background and check.

I suggest you to create a new user account and check if it fixes the issue. Refer to the steps below to create a new User Account:

• Go to Settings.
• Choose Accounts and then select Other User Accounts towards the left.
• Select Add an Account.
• Enter a user name and hit Next.
• Click on Finish.
• Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
• Check if issue persists.

How do you make object backgrounds transparent in Illustrator?

Hello Forum.
How do you make the background of an object transparent in Adobe Illustrator?
I have been having issues with using the Magic Wand tool in Adobe Illustrator as well as the lasso tool.
Basically, I am trying to put a small graphic into a new Illustrator file.
The first thing I tried to do is to use the magic wand tool. But I found out that this did not work on a jpeg image since it did not have any individual objects to select.
So I tried something new. I opened the file in Adobe Photoshop and used the lasso tool to select an area. Then I coped this area. Then I tried to paste it into Adobe Illustrator. But the background was not transparent for the pasted image.
How do I make the background transparent.
I made this small video to show what I am talking about:
I noticed that the background is a layer in the image I made in photoshop. I tried turning it off or making it invisible, but that did not help.
