Windows 10: Momentum on a new computer touchpad

I purchased a new computer HP 745 G5 and I like it except for the lack of Momentum feature on the touchpad that I had on my previous machine. I want to get this feature back is it possible?

The feature completely depends on the touchpad hardware and its drivers provided by the device manufacturer. You may be able to enable momentum, provided that the device hardware supports the feature. Kindly refer to the subsection
TouchPad or ClickPad Momentum under the section Adjusting TouchPad or ClickPad pointing sensitivities of the link below and see if you can locate the settings on your computer.

As mentioned above, these features are hardware specific, I would also suggest to contact the OEM to get the confirmation on whether the device supports the feature or not.

How to enable momentum in hp-745-g5 Touchpad

Hi,

I have on all my previous HP machines had Synaptics touchpad and I have had Momentum activated, and I love it, and miss it extremely much on this new otherwise fine machine I have at work. My old work machine (6.5 years) had support for it. I have googled
and tried registry changes, nothing helps. I will not be satisfied with this computer until Momentum is in place. So how do I fix it, or will there come an update soon so it will work? How can such a good function be removed?

(My all new private Apple MacBook Air does not have support for something similar either, so I do not use it very much, prefer my private HP Pavilion with Windows 10 where Momentum works).

No more touchpad for my laptop since upgrading to Windows 10

Hi Derek,

I would suggest the following steps :

• Press Windows + X
• Click on Device Manager
• Right click on TouchPad drivers in the list.
• Choose Upgrade Drivers
• Reboot computer

Check if this helped to fix the issue.
