Windows 10: Monitor auto detection of windows 10 causing trouble

Hi,


still an unsolved problem with displays that are switched off to save energy and Windows rearranging the desktop...

I want to disable this presence-detection-function for displays - how can this be done?

And please do not recommend to update any drivers or such stuff - this is a Windows-function that is triggered by these drivers telling Windows, that the monitor is off. I could perhaps talk to the manufactuer of the graphics card that processes this signal - maybe they agree to write a faulty driver that somehow does no longer tell Windows anything about the connected devices.


I need a solution for that issue and if there is a standard reply as in the other threads here the I swear I will switch to Linux!


As many many many other users are having this problem and Microsoft refuses to do anything about it the only way seems to be to constantly start Discussions about it with slightly different titles...I have no way to start the Feedback Agent it's disabled by company settings - but anyone who can please put as many feedbacks to them, let them drown!

Disabling monitor auto detection in windows 10

Also I have the same problem with a clone setup of my Dell display and my TV.

I got the blackouts every few minutes cause Windows auto detect the TV again and again.

The key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TMM is not avilable unter Windows 10 in the latest version, so how to disable monitor auto detection in windows 10?

Prevent Auto Monitor Detection

Sadly this doesn't work for me.

I changed the value of "UselViewHelper" to 0 and rebooted, but Windows 10 still auto-detected the monitors.

Is there a way to disable monitor auto detection in windows 10. In Windows 7 this can be done by changing the registry of the Transient Multimon Manager (TMM) but TMM does not exist in windows 10?

My problem is currently my surface pro 4 keeps flickering its screen back and forth trying to switch to my second monitor which is my TV. If i'm on the correct AV channel for the Surface then it switches fine but alot of times i'll have both my surface
and tv on but not projecting onto the tv and this is where the issues come up.

I've never had this issue before until the latest surface firmware/driver update and am hoping it will be resolved in time but if its possible i'd like to turn of the monitor auto detection instead.

Is there a way to do it for windows 10?
