Windows 10: Monitor changing input after screensaver activates

Just had this problem occur in the past few days. I have my screensaver set up to kick off after 5 minutes with the standard Mystify screensaver. It's always worked as usual. Lately, when the screensaver should start, my Samsung S27B550V monitor will auto change the input from Analog and try searching for the HDMI inputs. I have the manually change the input back to Analog. Either the screensaver never kicked off or did and in changing the input back to Analog somehow triggers an action that would normally turn off the screensaver, but either way the screensaver never comes up on the screen.


I even tried turning off the screensaver and setting the sleep mode for the monitor to 1 minute. When the monitor went to sleep, the input would automtically try to change. I've not changed any settings. I've tried different screensavers. I've reviewed all the power settings & options. Still, the input continues to change.


Answers/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Tom,

Since you've already checked the Screen Saver Settings, kindly answer the following question for clarification:

• Have you tried turning off the second monitor while assigning the screensaver slideshow to the primary monitor?
• Have you tried disabling and re-enabling the screensaver?
  

We also suggest that you make the screensaver slideshow to appear first at the primary monitor properly before troubleshooting with the second monitor.

I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if that helps.

• Go to the folder C:\Windows\System32 and sort by file type.
• Look for the screensaver file type (.scr).
• Find the file scrnsave.scr(you can choose any of the screensavers).
• Right click and select send to>desktop (create shortcut). The shortcut on my attachment, but when i click on it my screen goes off and on and nothing else.

The images will be repositioned in the Windows Screensaver based on the aspect ratios. Also, if the pictures are taken as portrait and not Landscape they will never fill the entire screen of the screensaver and the result would be a visible display offset.

We suggest that you check the desktop resolution to correct this, kindly follow the steps below:

• Right click in an open area on your desktop, select Display Setings.
• Under Display, click on
  Advanced display settings.
• Try to change the resolution and click on
  Apply and on Keep changes.

We also suggest that you check if this issue also occurs using a different user account.
