    Monitor color settings

I have 2 monitors which I have been using with my Windows 10 system. Yesterday they suddenly turned a kind of light reddish sepia colour. Both of them at the same time. When I start Windows up, both monitors are very briefly OK but almost immediately the sepia pops in. I use my computer for photography and graphics so this is no good. I thought it might be Adobe Gamma which is set to load on startup. So I disabled Adobe Gamma but the problem still happens exactly the same. A brief flash of OK color then both monitors turn light sepia. I tried altering the color balance of the monitor which is a workaround but not really effective in properly fixing the problem. What other things during startup might affect the color, other than Adobe Gamma?

    :)

    color settings

    Hi,

We understand that you'd like to reset the color settings of your computer to default.

If you're referring to the color settings of the monitor, you can check the device manual for instructions or contact the manufacturer for assistance.

However, if you're referring to the color settings in Windows, you can type
    Color Management
on the search option and select it from the list. Click
    Advanced, click Change system defaults.

In addition, if you have turned on the high contrast mode, we recommend turning it off using the steps
    here.

Kindly post back if you have further concerns.

  3. lost red color on my computer monitor

    Hi Yanjun,

Color calibration is something the operating system can't accurately do automatically. To make sure that your monitor is set to display the most accurate colors, you may use the built-in Display Color Calibration utility. Here's how:

    • Go to Settings > System > Display.
    • Scroll down to the very bottom, then click Display adapter properties.
    • Select the Color Management tab, then click Color Management (...).
    • Select the Advanced tab then click Calibrate display.
    • This will start the Display Color Calibration wizard. If you are new to calibrating your monitor’s color, click the
How do I calibrate my display? link for more information.
    • Click Next to begin adjustment.
    • The wizard will now walk you through the steps to access the on-screen display menu on your monitor to set specific color settings.

Remember that changes made through the display menu will be kept even if you click
Cancel. However, if you're not happy with the new settings, you can revert the changes manually, or reset your display to the default settings.

Let us know how it goes.

Color Management of external monitor Windows 10 not permanent

    Hi Frank,

Thanks for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

As per your query, I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.

First connect the secondary monitor and then run the color calibration tool. Then with the secondary monitor connected, follow these steps:

    a) Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.

    b) Change the view by option on the right top to large icons.

    c) Click on Color Management.

    d) Against device, select the secondary monitor and check, "use my settings for this device".

    e) In the bottom, highlight a profile and select "set as default profile".

Save changes and check if the issue persists. Let us know the results for further assistance.
