Windows 10: Monitor connected via VGA to USB converter is blurry and shows two mouse pointers on top of...

I have connected a 2nd screen to my laptop via a vga to usb converter as the laptop does not have vga input. However, the screen is blurry and makes it very hard to read a text. I can also see two mouse pointers on top of each other. This is especially evident if I try to change the mouse pointer size because in this case only one of them gets bigger or smaller and their color differs too sometimes not always though, I assume somehow the settings on the laptop and the monitor is not aligned. I have tried almost everything I could find on the internet. I changed resolution, restarted the comp

mouse pointer not crossing evenly

I have a two monitor desk top set up running windows 10. #1 is set up as HDMI #2 is set up VGA. I have settings as 1920 x 1080 (recommended) orientation Landscape, multiple displays as 'extended" The only issue I have is when dragging mouse pointer from
screen to screen the pointer is not aligned. it will be a few inches apart up or down from one monitor to the next. Same if I am dragging a window from screen to screen. Only thing I can figure is HDMI compared to VGA rates. Anyone have a suggestion?

 

Blurry Apps on second monitor

Thank you. I checked to ensure I had the update and I do. I just recently purchased a laptop. My laptop screen is fine, it's the 2nd monitor that has an issue. I posted another reply on this blog with more details (so you may have seen it). I purchased

My monitor is emachines. Now in the past, I connected a VGA plug from the monitor to a VGA port on the laptop. My new laptop only has an HDMI connection, so I had to purchase a Belkin adapter (to convert VGA to HDMI). The adapter and then using Windows
10 are the only things that are different.

My screen works great with other laptops (but my other laptops did not use Windows 10). However on this one, it's blurry. Everything on the screen is blurry enough to give you a headache.

 

Mouse Pointer

You can customize your mouse in a variety of ways in Windows. To change how your mouse pointer looks, you can follow the steps below:

• Right-click on the Start menu, then click Control Panel.
• Select Mouse, then go to the Pointers tab.
  
• Select the pointer you prefer from the drop-down list, click
  Apply > OK.

If you want to use a pointer that is not on the list, you can download it online. After that, go to Control Panel > Mouse > Pointers tab again, then click
Browse.
