Windows 10: Monitor connection issue after Windows update 19041.630

Hi,


I am using an Alienware m17 r3 laptop with intel i7-10750h and Windows 10 Home. Two days ago my win10 got auto updated and currently the OS build is 19041.630.


After the update, my laptop cannot connect to two monitors at the same time. I have one usbc-c monitor and another Dell monitor that connects via HDMI. So no matter what order I tried, my current windows can only connect to one monitor. Whenever I plug in another monitor, all the monitors show "No input signal".


I have Ubuntu 18.04 dual-installed. And it is working fine with both the two monitors in Ubuntu.

If your wireless router has a built in firewall maybe it's somehow set to block the ports that Windows updates use?

I'd also suggest if it works with it being directly connected then you could try resetting your router to see if this fixes the issue.

• What changes did you make in the BIOS? As making the changes in the BIOS is only recommended by Microsoft if done by the manufacturer.
  

• How are you connecting to the 2nd monitor?

Windows update issues

It works, but I still need to fix it so that way I dont have to plug computers directly to the modem to get windows update to work. It was also blocking me from installing directx.
