  1. Monitor conundrum

Here's a puzzle I can't work out, and hopefully someone can help me....

I have a laptop. I'm trying to connect it to the TV using HDMI cable.

Duplicate screen - can't change active resolution, it doesn't stick, but works Extend screen can change active resolution Second screen only - nothing, nada, zip

If I run something full screen and close the laptop lid, it works...when I exit the program it doesn't.

I've tried changing the resolution through CMD with qres but it gives me, graphics mode not supported....

I can't work this out at all

For reference hp laptop, geforce 1060, intel uhd 630 (with generic latest intel drivers)

    Conundrum...

Yes, I used a big word.
    But that's not the conundrum.

I can get 2x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 Graphics Card
for the same price as a good 560TI.

    What would you do/suggest?
Will be running on an AMD 990 board with a phenom II x6 and 16gb of DDR3x1600

Overclocking / Undervolting guide for Vega 56 or 64?

    Here's a quick laundry list:

List of software to use for overclocking and testing
    Examples:
Wattman (and how to find and use it, like an overview, including profiles)
Unigine Valley or Heaven (use this for quick testing while changing settings in Wattman and checking for stability / artifacts) ...just suggesting this
How to monitor cores / mem speeds and temps during testing (I've seen screen overlays, and others using GPUz)

    Step-by step overclocking in Wattman
    Fan speeds
    Power limit
    Temp limit
    Voltages
    Core speeds
    Memory speeds
