Windows 10: Monitor/Display Settings Keep Resetting Every Tuesday Night

I have been working from home for 10 months now. My laptop HP Pavilion running Windows 10 is hooked up to two monitors via HDMI and an HDMI/USB adapter. It runs well and I have no issues, except for this one:


Every Wednesday morning when I login for work, I have to reset my monitor and display settings so that all monitors are recognized, they are arranged correctly, and my mouse can flow freely across all screens.


I noticed this issue became consistently every Wednesday morning and no other day of the week did I have this issue. I have checked every forum and setting I can find to see if the computer is setup to auto-reset or restart at a particular time/day each week. Advanced display settings is where I started out first, since the computer itself doesnt seem to be restarting but just the display stuff, although I cannot confirm this. I haven't found anything.


I would appreciate any advice on where to look, what to do, or what could be the problem with this?

Night Light Setting and Third Monitor.

Hi Reagan,

We would like to ask you some questions in order assist you properly:

• Did Night light work previously on all three monitors?
• Have you made any recent changes to your PC?
• Are you getting an error message on the third monitor regarding Night light?
• Is the third monitor being detected by your PC?
• What troubleshooting steps have you performed so far?

While waiting for your response, we suggest that you try to connect your third monitor to what you are using on the 2 working monitors to see if it is only a loose connection issue.

Night Light Settings

Separately from the Night Light, is the brightness options also disabled? If so, I might recommend these steps to make it work again:

1) Right-click Start button, choose Device Manager

2) Find the "monitors" section in the list and expand it

3) Right-click and uninstall every item listed under the monitors section

….. note: don't accidentally go to the "display adapter section", leave that one untouched.

4) Click the "scan for hardware" button on the toolbar up top (the icon with the magnifying glass inside it)

5) Try brightness and night light settings again

 

No display on monitor when TV set as primary display

Issue solved

Removed DVI/HDMI cable from computer and monitor

Step 1: Check if the VGA monitor cable is defective.

1. Turn off computer
   
2. Connect the monitor VGA cable from the monitor to the VGA port on the computer
   
3. Turn on computer, VGA monitor cable is good.
   
   Step 2: Tun off computer
   

1. Connect HDMI Cable to HDMI port and TV
   
2. Turn on computer and TV, there is no monitor black screen
   
3. Click on the Windows logo, select the Settings icon , and then select
   
   System. Under Display there are two squares, labeled 1 and 2
   
   D Click on Advanced Display Settings:
   
   Display information: Display 1- Monitor Display 2 -TV
   
   E Right-click the Speakers icon in
   the taskbar, select Sound, click on Playback devices,

   AMD High Definition Audio Device ready.
