  1. Monitor/display will not turn off

Hello everyone. Using the same settings and programs as in my 8.1 installation. Nothing funny, or game-related running in the background (also tried disabling everything possible). The problem is that the monitor will not turn off, either from the Power/Display power-off options (nothing happens after set time passes), or with a program like ScreenOff and Monitor Off.

Using one of these apps, will start turning the monitor off, but it will turn itself back on automatically almost immediately. Something is interfering but I cannot figure out what. No security software installed (using Defender, tried disabling it). The only way this works as intended, is in Safe Mode.

    :)

  2. Fall creators update Displayport monitor won't go to sleep

    I have the same problem.

    6700K I7 with GTX1080, which has 1 HDMI and 3 Display Ports.

    • Oculus Rift on HDMI port
    • 2 ASUS 28" Monitors runing at 3840x2160 (4k), True Display Port
    • Huion GT220 Drawing Monitor/Tablet with Display Port to HDMI adapter
    • All Monitors are extended.
    • Sleep disabled
    • Screen are set to turn off after 5 minutes
    Problem/What happens:

When screen turns off, the 2 ASUS 4k monitor(s) and Huion GT220 Drawing Monitor turn off together. While the ASUS Monitors continue to stay off, the Huion GT220 Drawing Monitor/Tablet turns back on with a lighted Black screen but no Image.

Before 1709, all 3 monitors turned off, no problems. Now just the 4k Monitors turn off and the Drawing Monitor turns off then back on and stays on but with a lighted black screen.

    Thank you

  3. Fall creators update Displayport monitor won't go to sleep

I'm also having the same problem that's been bothering me since around the same time as Metal2Mesh.

AMD FX-8350 with XFX RX 580, which also has 1 HDMI and 3 Display Ports.

    • 1st display - Samsung 4K Monitor ( LU28E590DS ) connected through Display Port v 1.2 ( 3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz )
    • 2nd display - Samsung 4K TV ( UE55MU6202 ) connected through HDMI v1.4 ( 3840 x 2160 @ 30Hz )
    • All Monitors are extended.
    • Sleep disabled
    • Screen are set to turn off after 5 minutes

    Problem/What happens:

When screen turns off, both displays turn off together. While the Samsung 4K TV ( HDMI ) continues to stay off, the Samsung 4K Monitor ( Display Port ) turns back on with a lighted Black screen but no Image.

As you can probably see, the issue is so similar that I basicly took Metal2Mesh's original post and simply edited here and there with my own setup. It is clearly something that's in a recent update, don't know what but you guys seriously should do something
    about this A.S.A.P.

  6. When you say it won't turn off... do you mean the power saving doesn't kick in after X amount of minutes?

  7. Exactly. Also, if one of the above programs is used (they turn the monitor off instantly when executed) it will either turn off for a second then turn back on, or it won't even get to that point: the "entering standby mode" of the monitor is initiated, but it will come back to normal/on mode again, as if someone moved the mouse, pressed a key etc.

Right click on the start button , click Control Panel and in the Control Panel search box type in " View reliability " and then click " View reliability history" there may be a solution listed there.

  9. Thanks - I see nothing related there, only informational events (installations/uninstallations), no problems/issues reported. Also checked "View all problem reports".

  13. Monitor/display will not turn off

Does it also work for you on Safe Mode? I'm guessing there's some Windows 10 component or driver that might cause this on certain systems.

Go to the device manager and look at the properties of each device for a "power management" tab. If there, uncheck both boxes. Later go back and allow your network adaptor (or whatever) to be turned off and maybe allow your keyboard to wake up your computer.

  15. Having same issue with one of my systems I upgraded to Windows 10. Actually this system I did an upgrade then I blew that out and did a fresh install. So I have no hold over stuff from 8.1. I have a Asus PB278Q monitor and AMD R9 290X graphics cards. The AMD drivers are the latest Windows 10. My monitor was just using the stock Windows Plug and Play driver which I thought might be causing an issue so I installed a driver from Asus website that I had before, its only Windows 8 driver, they didn't put a Win10 one for this monitor. Still no difference, it wont shut off at all. Have 4 other computers in the house besides this one all on Win10 now and no issues with them.
