Windows 10: Monitor driver problems

Discus and support Monitor driver problems in Windows 10 Graphic Cards to solve the problem; So i am having this problem where Windows doesnt detect the right drivers for my monitor (a LG FLATRON W1642C) and so it thinks i have a 4:3 monitor....     So i am having this problem where Windows doesnt detect the right drivers for my monitor (a LG FLATRON W1642C) and so it thinks i have a 4:3 monitor. its listing every resolution and refresh rate possible and when i select my native resolution (which is 1366x768) or any other 16:9 resolution it gets horribly squished like this:Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet sorry for the bad image quality, i used my phone to take the picture.

    Monitor Driver Problem!!!!

    Allright so after windows 10 did a couple of automatic updates, i'm having this problem. Whenever I open photoshop or any other demanding application, it freezes and i get a blue screen with the error message DEVICE POWER STATE FAILURE. So I restart the
    computer in safe mode and I see in the device manager that there is a little orange triangle beside the monitor driver, Generic PnP Monitor Driver. I try updating, windows says it's up to date. I try uninstalling, i reboot, same driver is installed and still
    the same problem. I check the event log on the device and I see that there is and event called ''device not migrated'' with this description:

    Device DISPLAY\BOE065F\4&29c0d5b&1&UID265988 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.

    Last Device Instance Id: DISPLAY\BBY0042\4&29c0d5b&0&UID198147

    I tried downloading all the available drivers from the manufacturer's website and install them manually, which didnt change anything. Then I decided to check other devices with events called ''device not migrated'' and I saw under network adapter that Intel(R)
    Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 had a similar message:

    Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_095A&SUBSYS_50108086&REV_59\4&38c7c4a&0&00E0 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.

    I did the ''sfc /SCANNOW'' in the command prompt and windows did not find any problems. This computer is my work tool and it has been rendered completely unusable by this problem. Computer is Asus ROG GL553VD laptop. Please help....

    Make sure your videocard drivers are recent and the correct one , not a Microsoft VGA driver or something and then get any driver for the Monitor from LG Brazil if there are any ? sorry I don't read or speak Portuguese so not much help there but this is the page...

    My videocard drivers are already up to date. and i already did try to look for a monitor driver but i could only find a "Pixel Warranty Policy" and when tried to look for it on other websites i just could not find it.

    It is an Odd size for a Desktop Monitor, it is a standard size for a Laptop or Netbook though so maybe you can fool it?

    I could not find a Driver at LG Brazil either , but On the LG USA website it does not even know that Monitor but there is a General Monitor Driver Page , so perhaps try the 1080p Driver and see if it then allows you to set the proper resolution which is 1366 X 768 @60hz (not 1360 x768) , click the link at bottom left here:

    LG Software & Drivers | LG U.S.A

    Nvidia 342.01 is the latest driver for your videocard , the 8400GS

    Monitor driver problems

    You really dont need the drivers for your monitor per se, cause all the needed information should be delivered to your computer via display-cable in so called EDID-file.

    Try removing the cable both ends when the computer is on and re-attach the computer first back in and see if it helps you with the case. It can also be a faulty cable causing you problems ie. not delivering the EDID information between display and computer.

    These tips only applies when and if you have the correct version of your gfx-drivers installed.

    under special functions on the LG webpage it says something about a special 4x3 mode , it isn't stuck in that mode is it ? check the monitor menu and see if it is in 4x3 not 16 x9 perhaps?

    using google translation i see this now....

    maybe you need to push a button on the front ? there is no manual online so i cant help there...
