Windows 10: Monitor error: signal frequency is out of range please change signal timing

When I plug my HP Stream laptop running Windows 11 into my iiyama monitor I get the following message on the monitor:ATTENTIONSIGNAL FREQUENCY IS OUT OF RANGEH: 67.5KHz V:60.0HzPLEASE CHANGE SIGNAL TIMINGI use this same monitor with one other windows laptop and one macbook with no issues. I use this HP laptop with other monitors, again with no issues. I can still use the monitor as a display in theory, but cannot get rid of the error message obscuring the central portion of the screen.Can anyone explain how I fix this? I have tried multiple adaptors to check whether it's unique to the adap

This happens if the signal from the video adapter exceeds the scan range of the monitor. The video card is feeding the monitor a signal stream in excess of what the monitor can accommodate. The two main causes for this are that either the resolution
or the vertical frequency is set high.

You may try the troubleshooting steps listed in HP and Compaq Flat Panel Monitors - Flat Panel Monitor Displays Message about
No Signal, Signal out of Range, Sleep, or Power Save and check if it helps.

• The monitor cannot accommodate the set refresh rate (e.g. 60Hz).
  
• Outdated graphics card driver

• Which build and version of Windows 10 are you running on your device?
  
• What is the maximum possible refresh rate can be set for your monitor (refer to monitor's manual)?
  
• Were there any changes made to your computer prior to this issue?

Monitor "Out of range"

"Out of range" in this context means that the signal your graphics card or chip is sending to the monitor is beyond the ability of the monitor to display. You typically see this message when you try to use a resolution or frequency that is beyond the monitor's
capability.

It's a common error for people like ... uh ... somebody I know, when moving from a CRT to a digital monitor. A digital monitor doesn't need to use a high frequency signal; whatever the graphics card/chip sends (typically 60 Hz) is correct.
