  1. Monitor gives no signal despite pc being on

I tried using a different monitor and a different cables which i am 100% sure are fully working, i tried updating my drivers, i tried booting in safe mode.

I'm stumped, the issue is not hardware related, i can use a remote desktop app on my phone to access my pc and everything works normally including games and the like.

The issue showed up while i was playing a really old game (Driver: You are the wheelman) which causes the resolution to change into a really small one every time you go to the main menu, only this time instead of changing resolution, everything turned black. So i use my remote desktop app to reboot my pc thinking it would fix the issue but ever since i have not been able to get a video signal from my computer.

    I'm at a complete loss.

    :)

  2. Monitor not receiving signal from pc after using hdmi passthrough

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

HDMI Pass-Through does not work with all devices. Before attempting to set up an HDMI Pass-Through connection, you should make sure the source of the signal such as a Blu-ray player or Set Top Box, supports HDMI Pass-Through.

In order to get clarity on this issue and assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

    1. Did you try a different HDMI cable to connect your PC to the monitor?
    2. When you say "my pc will not display to my monitor", are you able to see any error message on it? For example: 'No signal'.

Meanwhile, try the below suggestions and check if this helps.

    • If your monitor has an option in the Menu Button to switch the
Input Source to HDMI Port, I would suggest you to try it.
    • Try completely disconnecting your Xbox from the computer and just connect your computer to the monitor and check if you are able to see the display on the monitor.
    • Make sure your display is plugged in and turned on.
    • Unplug the video cable from both your display and PC, and then reconnect them firmly. After you reconnect the video cable, try moving your mouse on your display.
    • Try connecting to different video outputs on your PC. Sometimes a change in driver can cause the video to be sent to a different display adapter or output.
    • If you have your own display adapter installed and connected to your display,
try connecting your display to the built-in video on the motherboard.
    • Check for damaged HDMI cable, loose connections, or faulty adapters.

    Hope it helps.

We're looking forward to your response.

  3. Windows 10 Update Installed & Now No Signal to Monitor

    Hi,

For us to isolate your concern with your monitor's signal, we would like to know the following:

    • When you say "signal", are you referring to the Internet?
    • Are you getting any error messages? If yes, what is the exact error message?
    • To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

We look forward to your response.

Monitor gives no signal despite pc being on

    Displayport gives no signal

I've (of course) set the monitor to miniDP input and it doesn't help at all. I also checked that it is DP1.2 as in my GPU but doesn't have an effect on anything. When it comes to connecting via HDMI or DP with my laptop it also switches itself to the input that is giving signal.

For example if I connect it with just DP to my GTX780 it displays no signal (using miniDP input and setting). If I connect it via HDMI+miniDP it changes itself to HDMI and if I swap it to miniDP via the monitors settings it just displays the "miniDP NO SIGNAL" turns off, sees the HDMI signal and switches itself back to HDMI.
