    Monitor has black bar covering half the taskbar upon boot/waking from sleep.


    So essentially what happens is on booting my pc or when i wake up the screen from sleep mode I get this black bar which covers half the taskbar, over the span of 20-30 minutes it slowly fades away but if I leave my pc and wake it from sleep it is right back to covering half the taskbar. My gpu is a 3080 and fully updated driver wise and so is the monitor. I'm using it at 165hz which it supports what should I do to fix this please its really annoying I cant play games

    When my monitor refresh rate is set to 60, the black bar's height is lower but it still exists. When my monitor's refresh rate is 144Hz. It covers half the taskbar, yet when my laptop is hot, the black bar's height is lower. when I turn on the AC in my room, the black bar covers half my screen and sometimes half the screen stays in 1 frame and doesn't update. Please help if you even understand what I'm saying. (HP laptop, Intel display, Windows 10 preinstalled but I upgraded it to 11)

    Monitor will not wake from sleep

    When my PC wakes from sleep it always used to wake the monitor as well but now when the PC wakes the monitor does not respond. The only way to solve the problem is to do a hard reset of the PC. The PC is definitely waking from sleep. it is just the monitor.

    I have read multiple forums trying to find a solution but nothing seems to work. things I have tried:

    • updating BIOS
    • restoring Windows
    • running Windows Update
    • trying a different monitor
    • checking monitor settings
    • turning off Fast Startup
    • Running Troubleshooter Power
    • turning off Link State Power Management
    • Restarting in Safe Mode
    • Updating and Rolling Back the display adaptor
    • checking that keyboard and mouse can wake the PC
    • probably a few more that I have forgotten

    Windows 11Home 64 bit

    AMD Ryzen 7 5700u

    AMD Radeon Graphics

    Any suggestions gratefully received
