Windows 10: Monitor Is Constantly Auto - Adjusting

Hello!


I'm hoping someone out there can help me with this. About a month ago I bought a windows system after not having one for a while, and for the life of me I cannot figure out why my monitor is constantly adjusting the brightness and it has become such a annoyance I dread using my computer.


Adaptive brightness is off. Monitor being used is a VG245H which has an auto-adjust option but is greyed out.

Hi Beep01,

This has nothing to do with Windows, it is a setting on your physical Monitor.

Click the menu button on your Monitor to open the settings panel

Somewhere in those settings Auto-adjust is turned on, turn that off and manually set the provided adjustments so your screen looks correct . . .

Check your monitor manual or get into the monitor setup configuration to see if you can disable auto adjust.

Also check if the display cable on the back side of your monitor and PC is tightly fixed (It can happens if the cable is loose).

 

Brightness can not be adjusted.

Do let us know the following to assist you better with this issue:

• What is the make and model of your device?
• Were you able to see any error message/ error code with this issue?
• Have you tried to install all the pending updates for drivers and Windows Updates on your device?

This issue might have happened due to corrupted/ outdated drivers.

I suggest you to refer to the below Microsoft article, try the troubleshooting steps suggested to change the brightness and check if it helps.
