Monitor is detected but display resolution is not correct

i bought a new monitor yesterday (AOC E2270SWHN) and i found that the screen was really stretched out when I connected it to my pc. Here is a picture:
Monitor is detected but display resolution is not correct [IMG]

When I went into the settings I found that there was no option for 1080x1920 and was very confused. Like I said, my pc recognises the monitor but does not show the correct screen resolution. I have tried everything, from reinstalling the drivers to downloading about 10 apps that claim to change the screen resolution but end up doing completely nothing. Please help me before i shoot myself from fustration. Thanks!!

    :)

My display changed after a restart.

Right click the desktop and select Display settings

At the bottom of that screen select Advanced display settings.

Check that the resolution being used is correct.

If you are using a 3rd party graphics card try reinstalling the drivers

If a desktop monitor (not a laptop) look for its own Menu button to configure the monitor. On one of the display settings screens (they are all different) you should find what display resolution it is detecting on the input.

Display is not correct resolution and everything is small and stretched

See my other reply above, but I have tried everything. dump/replace driver. I thnk the one that is isntalled is the MOBB or something like that. I have tried to find a manufacturers driver (element electronics, ELEFC242) can't find one. IT seems there used
to be a display utility on my PC to control the graphics, monitor, etc. but I can't find squat since I upgraded to win10, (but I have had win10 for quite some time).

My monitor is an element ELEFC242 (tag on back of it) . All I can find out about my onboard graphics is ATI Radeon 3000. I tried to find some utility for it on ATIs website and the only ones there, I downloaded were for Win8 and say thay will not run on
my operating system. (ZT PC came with win7, free upgrade to win8 ( I did it), then when win10 came out I did that)

OTher than I hate the GUI and the fact I can't figure out how any of the windows features work like I used on all the older WINs, all the way back to DOS ( I think, Win Millienium is the only one I have used).

Right now I have the 1280x1084 and 125% scale on. My monitor used to boot (auto detect) to 19??x ???? and the I had the text scaled up. Everything looked wonderful, Now it sucks.

Monitor is detected but display resolution is not correct

    One of two possibilities:

    1. Driver is still not correct, as you don't have the listed resolution to go to recommended for that monitor. If it is using a driver win 10 installed and not the manufacturer, then you need to try the manufacturer driver, list the display driver from device manager and we can go from there.

    2. Card in PC (Is it a card, or integrated mainboard graphics?) doesn't support that resolution, hence driver not listing it, etc.

Other possibility - what does the system show for the monitor listed in device manager?

If the PC is running the "Windows basic display adapter" drivers, that may be your problem. You may not get 1920 X 1080 from those.

The usual fix would be to install the proper drivers for your graphics device. If you're using the onboard graphics, that may be problematic. Intel has not, as far as I know, released drivers for your Q35 chipset.

If all else fails, you could upgrade to an inexpensive discrete PCI-E X16 graphics card that has Windows 10 support.
