Windows 10: Monitor Issue or Windows Issue

So my problem is I just got a new Dell - S2721DGF 27 monitor. I am running windows 10 and have a Geforce GTX 980. Now I had this monitor before and did not have this issue with my old monitor but do on my replacement one. This issue I am running into is that I use a display port to hook into my monitor. I then run the hdmi cable to my receiver. As soon as I switch the receiver to the input that my pc is on my screen goes black for a second and then comes back on but now all my icons are gone along with my mouse cursor and if I had any windows open they are gone too. I've tried to figure this o

To have a better clarity on the issue and guide you accordingly, kindly help us with the following information:

• Is the issue specific to DBeaver or does it happen on all the applications?

The issue could probably be because of the secondary monitor not having its own taskbar. I suggest you to try the steps listed below and check if it works.

• Right click the Taskbar on your primary monitor and choose Taskbar Settings.
• Enable Show Taskbar on all the displays under
  Multiple Displays, and exit Settings.
• Now, try restoring a minimized window to see if it works.
