Windows 10: Monitor no signal after booting up

I changed the thermal pads on my graphics card yesterday and after plugging everything in I almost always get no signal. However sometimes it shows my windows for a second and then I get the no signal and the time after that I almost always get the like „repair windows“ screen or whatever it says but also for only like 1 second then I get no signal. Everything on my pc turns on my graphics card my keyboard but the fans of my graphics card stopp spinning at the blackscreem this is normal tho right?. Help would be really appreciated I already asked on reddit but only got. 1 answer that didnt r

Thanks for your answer, however i have checked all cables and connections and these are fine (work with other pc). Re step 2 - i cannot boot to safe mode as there is no monitor signal so i cannot see anything except a black screen.

how can i boot my PC to safe mode if i cannot see anything?

I can't change the signal resolution either as no monitor!!

'No signal' means that your monitor is not receiving a video signal that it can display. This is usually due to one of the following causes:

1- The cable going from your computer to your monitor is loose. Power off the monitor, re-attach the cable at both end, power on your monitor. (This step is N/A if you have a laptop or an AIO.)

2- The signal your graphics card is sending to your monitor can't be displayed by your monitor. Boot the computer to Safe Mode, choose a low resolution signal, restart your computer normally, switch to the 'Recommended' resolution for your monitor.

To change the signal resolution: Start > Settings > System > Display > Display resolution.

Your problem is not related to your BIOS, unless you made changes to the BIOS yourself.

 

HDMI no signal only during Boot

Hey Guys,

I've just built myself a new computer, all working well, however on boot my HDMI monitor receives no signal until Windows has fully loaded. It would receive signal to see the Bios screen pop up then go blank with no signal and then about 5 seconds later will receive signal and display the desktop.

I've now added a second monitor connected via DVI, even though this is not set as my primary monitor the bios screen displays on it and I can see the entire boot process through this monitor, it will then load to desktop of which a split second later my primary HDMI monitor will then receive signal and start to display.

It's not a massive issue but it's quite annoying, any suggestions?

I'm using a GTX 970 and Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit.
