Windows 10: Monitor no signal suddenly

Okay so here's the deal. I downloaded Windows 10 three to four weeks back from Windows 8 and everything was working fine in that time period. Last Friday I'm in the middle of a game and my computer crashes and then reboots but my monitor is receiving absolutely no signal at all. The computer itself runs fine all of the fans spin and nothing is loose. So basically the computer starts but my screen remains black stating "No signal" and then the monitor shuts off. I took my computer to the same guy I normally take it to and he claims its either the motherboard or the processor. He has me order a new motherboard (which is a MSI 990 FXA gaming AM3 socket) and it finally comes in and I bring it to him. He installs the motherboard and there's still nothing. He used several different graphics cards to see if that works and still nothing. He says my motherboard I just received must be defective and I need to send it back (which I'm seriously doubting is the case now) and my doubts to that is because my brothers computer is now down with the same exact problem as well. He downloaded Windows 10 around the same time and his went down a few days after mine did. I'm seriously stumped and bummed out by this because I have no idea what to do. Both of our graphics cards are based around invidia. And both PCs are custom built. I've never encountered this kind of problem in my 3 to 4 years of owning this PC and it's funny how my brother and I encounter the same exact problem around the same time after a little while of downloading Windows 10

Display port does not send signal to to minitor - Lenovo W541 - windows 10

My machine, Lenovo W541 windows 10, suddenly stopped sending signals to my Iiyama monitor.

I was working with this setup yesterday and everything seemed fine. I've checked all of the cables but still the mini DP is not sending any signal. The device manager is showing no problems and there are no windows updates left on this machine.

Can anyone help me out?

 

Strange, My sister-in-law's computer just had the same problem, except she's on Windows 7. Maybe there was a device driver update of some kind. FYI, I used the onboard VGA output, and everything worked.

 

Use the VGA output and see if you get any picture before Windows load (BIOS etc). If you do, then your card and motherboard are OK, you need to update drivers. Reset several times before Windows fully load and eventually you should see the troubleshooting screen. Select Advanced Startup Options and then Safe Mode with networking. This should boot with basic graphics and let you download and install latest driver. Since you may not be able to run setup from Safe Mode, go to Device Manager (search to find it), expand display adapters and then click on your VGA. Right-click, select Update drivers. Then select last option 2-3 times until you see a Have disk button. Click on that and browse to the folder where you extracted the nVidia files.

 

Thanks spapakons! That did work on my brothers computer but I have not yet been able to try it on mine due to it being disassembled and I am not what I would consider qualified to reassemble it correctly. Once I have it reassembled I will try it on mine as well!
